Darius typically will not take TP because he wants the lane pressure of either Ghost or Ignite. Counter Darius by forcing him into bad back timings where he misses out on XP and farm.

Darius is countered by anti-heal. An early Executioner's Calling or Bramble Vest is helpful in lane and an absolute must in the late game. Anti-heal counters almost all of Darius' tankiness and ability to stay in fights.

If you do not want to play a ranged champion to counter Darius, opt for something that far outscales him in the late game. Darius will fall off and you will be more valuable to your team and ultimately win the game.

Darius has many shortcomings as a champion. He is immobile and melee. He needs to snowball in order to be of any use in the late game. You counter Darius by simply not dying in lane.

Darius' passive deals a surprising amount of damage in the early game. Counter Darius by not greeding for that one minion and allowing Darius to land his and auto attack you to death.

Darius gets a huge powerspike at Level 6 when he gains his . The ult gives Darius an execute, especially if his passive bleed effect is fully stacked, and he can easily tower dive you and still walk out.
